New NLM genetics resource for teens has patient education potential

GeneEd is a new genetics resource from the National Library of Medicine that is targeted towards high school students and teachers.  The database includes information on a  variety of topics, such as cell biology, top issues in genetics, heredity, DNA forensics, genetic conditions and biostatistics, as well as experiments and career information.

This resource could also be useful for clinicians to recommend to teens and their families to help them find reliable and age-appropriate information sources about their specific condition and to further explore the science behind their diagnosis.
