Resource Trial: Micromedex 2.0

The library currently has access to a trail of Micromedex 2.0.  We need your help in deciding whether or not Micromedex is an appropriate tool for the Children’s Hospital community! Check out Micromedex and then let us know what you think by emailing Alison Clapp.

Q: What is Micromedex?
A: Micromedex is a database that allows users to search for evidence-based drug and clinical information. The information found in Micromedex 2.0 is compiled from medical journals and Micromedex’s editorial staff, which includes physicians, clinical pharmacists, nurses and medical librarians. Results are displayed as summaries with links to more in-depth exploration of the topic, drug monographs, side-by-side comparisons, and IV compatibility information.

Q: How do I access the Micromedex 2.0 trial?
A: Go to http://www.thomsonhc.com, type in the username:chob and the password: TRIAL

Q: How long does the trail last?
A: Until January 21, 2012, at which time we will decide whether or not to purchase Micromedex.

Q: Can I use Micromedex 2.0 on my mobile device?
A: Yes. Micromedex has apps available for iPhones/iPads and Android devices.
