Science Magazine’s Picks for Children’s Books

Still looking for presents for the kiddies on your holiday shopping list?  Science Magazine recently published its finalists for the 2012 Science Books and Films Prizes for Excellence in Science Books.  The list of finalists, which is divided by age group, features titles that are informative and that encourage interest in science.

Some of this year’s picks are:  Songbird in the Forrest: The Mystery of the Marbled Murrelet, by Joan Dunning; Elephant Talk: The Surprising Science of Elephant Communication, by Ann Downer and Feynman, by Jim Ottaviani with art by Leland Myrick.

The complete list appears in the December 2nd issue of Science, which is available online through Harvard (Harvard ID # and password required) or contact Alison Clapp or Heather Anne O’Leary for a PDF copy.
