In 2010, the Boston Book Festival launched One City One Story and gave away thousands of copies of “The Smile on Happy Chang’s Face” by Tom Perrotta. It was such a success that the group is hosting another One City One Story event this year.
The 2011 selected story is “The Whore’s Child” by Pulitzer-prize winning author, Richard Russo. Russo will be appearing at a special session at the Boston Book Festival on October 15th in Copley Square. He’ll join in what is sure to be an engaging discussion. In the weeks leading up to the Festival, bound copies of the story will be printed and distributed at libraries, bookstores, farmer’s markets, and T stations. It’s not too late to get your copy! You can find the distribution schedule as well as downloadable PDFs of “The Whore’s Child” at the Boston Book Festival website.
