Out Stealing Horses follow-up

During this morning’s discussion of Petterson’s book, several other titles by Scandinavian authors were mentioned.  Halldor Laxness is an Icelandic author who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1955.  He wrote Independent People and Iceland’s Bell among others.  Sigrid Undset, who also won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1928, is another Norwegian author.  Her books can be defined as “epic” and Kristin Lavransdatter details life in Scandinavia in the Middle Ages.
